Nothing beats keeping a camcorder in your hand. Camcorders retailing is highly competitory and prices widely and may modify quickly. Generally, the more you spend, the more outstanding the caliber and features – but that’s not always the case. In addition, if you are just starting out, buying a camcorder stuffed with buttons and knobs that you will never use (though may take pleasure in telling your friends down the pub about) may be sufficient to push you over the edge and make you give up altogether. It is often only when you have genuinely held a camcorder in your hands and used it for a while that you genuinely get to know it. A peculiar camcorder may have a feature that no other in the price band has – for example, the capacity to shoot in total darkness or to edit footage from within the camcorder itself. Many users are fascinated in lenses, optical performance like power of the zoom, may it focus on fast moving subjects, and will it record precise colours in tricky indoor outdoor lighting situations? These are the real -life usage challenges of a decent sufficient quality for all but the most critical. Buying a camcorder is a personal thing, too. It’s regarding how it feels to you when you hold it in your hand, so shop around for good deals and to check out which camcorder suits you best for the type of subject matter and memories you want to record. Few of latest models, Canon Legria HF S11, Panasonic HDC -SD200 but these cost like so galore of the new models of camcorders But there are those camcorders out that deliver on prices such as Toshiba Camileo P30,, Samsung HMX -U10 and Flip Mino HD, Here are just a few of Latest Camcorders from: £111 / $173 to £130 / $ 202 Toshiba Camileo P30 £120 /$ 187 The Camileo H10 provided 720p for £120 /$187. Now Toshiba raises the value stakes yet again with the P30, which promises 1080p shooting for a similar amount. It weighs around 160g with battery and memory card, and measures just 104mm along it is longest edge. These proportions may not be rather as little as the new breed of pocket Internet camcorders such as the Creative Vado HD, so it’s not rather trouser-friendly. But it wouldn’t demolish the cut of a jacket, and Toshiba furnishes a handy pouch for protection. This is exceptionally utile as, bizarrely, Toshiba has continued it is recent trend of not including a lens cap, so you better be careful not to scratch or get dirt on the optics. More importantly, it’s equipped with the sort of features we’d suppose tofind in more expensive, semi-serious camcorders. The P30 not only has a 5xoptical zoom, but also a macro mode, digital effigy stabilisation (limited to 720p mode and below), an LED light/flash for dim conditions and five megapixel still effigy capture. it is a bit of a pipe dream, with low-light performance the main deal breaker. Although effigy quality in the best conditions is adequate for the purpose for the price, if you want a cheap camcorder to capture a few family moments, a more authenti standard definition model is more appropriate. Verdict on Toshiba Camileo P30 If you’re looking for your basi camcorder, or plainly want a no fuss, no frills model to shoot video for fun and for social networking sites, such as You Tube, Myspace or Facebook, then the P30 is just for you Flip Mino HD: £130 / $ 202 Verdict on Flip Mino HD The Flip Mino HD is Not Designed to compete with a more prominent camcorder, like a Samsung HMX20C or Cannon HF100, bur as a stand -alone fun unit, it scores. The Flip Mino HD feels solid but is exceedingly lightweight for it is size, and, therefore, one wants to think it is fragile. It may be said that it’s finelooking sturdy and scratch resistant. Feathers seldom break when dropped. The Flip Mino HD isn’t featherlight of course, and doesn’t tardily float to the ground, but having dropped it assorted times from regarding four feet at the most eminent and when it comes to a foot at the lowest, I may tell it’s well sufficient built to survive the normal tumbles that cellphones-sized gimmicks tend to take from time to time as they’re knocked off desks or dropped out of pockets. The body of the Flip Mino HD is made from a very shiny plastic that is like a magnet for your fingerprints. These are both inevitable and unavoidable no matter how clean your hands, so if fingerprints are a pet peeve of yours, this alone may be a deal breaker for you. Despite it is ultra-shininess, the device isn’t slippery in the least and has a nice grip. The Screen Measuring only 1.5 inches corner to corner, the screen on the MinoHD is not just small, it’s tiny. Since the device records in 16:9 aspect ratios, the video doesn’t even take up the full height of the screen. The strips at the top and bottom of the video give you metadata like how much recording time is left, whether you’re recording or not, how far along in play back you are, and a battery indicator. The speakers sit on either side of the screen and in truth do a finelooking decent occupation of playing back the audio recorded. Unfortunately, unless there is a TV around for attaching to the Mino HD thru the included composite video cable, the internal speakers on the device are your only option, as there is no headphone jack for monitoring the audio Video Quality of The Flip Mino HD records in 720p 16:9 aspect ratio video, so it is capable of recording very highly elaborate video. One of the best features of the Flip Mino HD, it is diminutive size and ease of carrying, is also one of it is greatest weaknesses. The Mino HD shot best when held altogether still on a tripod. If you’re a star cinematographer in the making with a very steady hand or a tripod, you’ll no doubt shoot lots of great footage with the Mino HD. Samsung HMX -U10 £111 / $173 Verdict on Samsung HMX -U10 A Fun, well made, take everyplace model with all Samsung’s general quality and innovation. Perfect if you’re looking for a funky, pocket -sized camcorder for fun shooting. Samsung attempts to distinguish the bulk of it is HD camcorder line by incorporating SSD–solid-state drive–storage equated to competitors’ established hard disks, regular old built-in flash, or merely removable flash cards. This is a rather flimsy thread to hang a scheme on. While SSD theoretically confers a size vantage over hard disks, Samsung’s core line of four HD camcorders–the HMX-H106, the H105, the H104, and the H100–are notwithstanding comparatively large, and more prominent than a typical card-based model. The models are identical save the built-in storage, which starts at none (SDHC card only) and tops off at 64GB. Given that you recompense a price premium for the SSD–the differential amidst the no-memory HMX-H100 and the 16GB H104 is when it comes to twice the cost of a Class 6 16GB SDHC card–and the sheer dollar gap widens as capacity increases, the SSD in the end ends up a syndication gimmick. This series review is based on tests of the H106. In fact there a good deal of very good High definition camcorders on the markets With price range from £100/ $156 to £180/ $281, like JVC Picisio GC – FM1.Sanyo Xacti VPC-TH1, Toshiba Camileo H10. Camcorder retailing is highly competitory so prices vary widely and may alter quickly.

I’d say the only negatives are no infra-red or built in video light. There will probably be such accessories forthcoming but for now, it’s tough to take pics or movies in the dark. It does have a flash for photos though but you need some lighting present for the camera to focus properly. Overall, highly recommended and would find it pretty much impossible to go back to discs or tapes or even hard drive and removable flash memory. I switched to Samsung TV’s a while ago because they simply outdo the competition in offering the latest features in a friendly, sleek package…this is definitely another step in the right direction. |
